02/02/12 OOTD: Bramble

In the poll to help me decide what to wear yesterday, only one person voted for a dress. Well, this one is for you, friend!

Dress: Made by Mrs. Spookshow
Necklace: Feather dream necklace from Domino Dollhouse
Ring: Studded double finger ring from Domino Dollhouse
Bracelets: thrifted / eBay
Tights: Charnos opaque 60 denier thick tights in wine
Shoes: Portia bootine from Payless

Mrs. Spookshow made this dress for me a while ago, but I haven't worn it much. Even though she altered the pattern to fit a male shape better, and I love the fabric, I've just never felt like I've fully rocked this dress to the max. Until today. I think the trick for me with this dress is just to have some fun accessorizing it!

I haven't really dabbled much in jewelry, as I usually just wear the same items daily. I bought this necklace because I have another dress that just needed a red accessory to help pull it all together (which will be featured later this month). I think it works really great here as well, and in the future I'll be on the lookout for more cool jewelry. The double finger ring is just fun, and I think it helps add a bit of edge to the look.

I didn't initially think that the red tights would work with the dress, but once I saw it all together I realized the colors actually work great together. I think it makes for an interesting combination. I'm pretty much in love with these shoes. I think peeptoes are incredibly hot, and my love of booties is well documented, haha. We'll be seeing more of these shoes during the month, for sure.

We're only two days in, and I already feel like I've had great success. One of the goals of this event was to try to look at my wardrobe from different angles, to learn more about how to mix and match the clothes I have, and learn more about style. I'm having a lot of fun and I feel I'm coming up with some good looks. I hope you all are enjoying following along on this journey!

    1. Thank you, Sleepydumpling! As of this writing I'm only five days into the event, but this is my favorite look so far. I'm still surprised how well these colors are workin' together here. This dress definitely just got bumped up from its back-of-the-closet status, ha!
